George Feijoo joined Prime Strategies in May of 2016 as a governmental affairs consultant.
George is an insurance specialist whose practice focuses on helping Prime’s financial services clients navigate the regulatory process, develop competitive business strategies, draft legislation, and mold public policy amid changing exposures. He has technical expertise in multiple personal and commercial lines of business including life, health, auto, property, and professional liability.
Before joining Prime Strategies, George spent several years at the Florida Office of Insurance Regulation where he gained extensive knowledge and experience in the regulation of financial statements and insurance contracts, company licensing and negotiation, legislative analysis and legal research, and the drafting of policy language. He has spoken at industry conferences and held various positions within both the Property & Casualty Product Review and Life & Health Financial Oversight units. Most recently, he oversaw the approval of property and casualty forms within several different lines of business, but his passion was in auto, where he helped shape policy in the face of rapidly developing technology such as automated motor vehicles and ridesharing applications.
Born in New York and raised in Miami, George moved to Tallahassee in 2007 to study at Florida State University where he earned his Bachelor’s degree in Actuarial Science. In 2015, while working at the Office, George received his M.B.A. from Florida State University as well as the CPCU designation from the American Institute of Chartered Property Casualty Underwriters.
